The Millenium Development Goals (MDG)
The eight Millennium Development Goals (MDG) were unanimously adopted by the international community on 8th September 2000 at the opening of the 55th session of the United Nationals General Assembly. The 191 member States undertook to achieve these goals by 2015.
MDG 7 calls for ensuring environmental sustainability. Target 10 of Goal 7 calls for halving the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and improved sanitation by 2015.
